As hostilities with the Mor-Taxan Advocacy dragged on, border outposts on both sides tended to fall under attack with little or no warning. When Early Warning Outpost NV-22 found itself facing a deadly bombardment, a distress signal was sent out. Arriving almost as one, NCC-1631 Intrepid and NCC-1219 Keeler swing into action. As Intrepid confronts the Advocacy attackers, Keeler evacuates the survivors of the shattered outpost. Then, with Intrepid laying down covering fire and maneuvering to shield her escape, Keeler pushes her engines to the limit and heads for safer space.

USS Keeler is a freshly repainted version of Rich Merk's classic Antares-class freighter. The Intrepid is a reskinned variant of Aggi's Enterprise (converted using Celtic Archie's slightly fantastic tutorial). The background is, I think, from Thinkstock.com.
As with all of my Keeler images, these are done in tribute to the volunteer and professional paramedics, EMTs, and other first responders work long hours and regularly place themselves in harms way for the sake of total strangers who, as often as not, have voted to cut their pay or eliminate their collective bargaining rights. I don't know how they do it, but I'm sure glad they're there.
actually, I did a piece that solved that little problem for my beloved Vulcans...
